The first hotel to be developed in Serena del Mar has been confirmed

It will be a new brand of the hotel chain Decameron All Inclusive Hotels & Resorts, which presents its first project "All - Inclusive" premium.

Bogotá, February 22, 2019. Today Decameron and Serena del Mar confirmed that the first hotel in “La Ciudad Soñada” will be the Grand Decameron Serena del Mar, a new brand from the Decameron Group under an "All - Inclusive" premium format.

With an investment of approximately 200 billion pesos, Novitas Civitas will be the firm responsible for managing the design and construction of the Gran Decameron Serena del Mar, while the Decameron Group will be the project’s operator.

The hotel will have an area of 11 hectares, 400 rooms and more than 180 meters of beach in the Manzanillo del Mar area, located in northern Cartagena. Among the differentials it will offer, there is a unique design developed entirely by regional talent that will focus on communicating the essence of the local culture and environment in an enclave in the middle of nature. In addition, there will be four restaurants, and all the amenities and services of the fitness and wellness concept, each of these details where designed to meet the needs and tastes of families, couples, and groups of friends.

Decameron All Inclusive Hotels & Resorts will venture into a new concept that promises to set a new trend, and this is the first step it will take in this regard. About the announcement, Fabio Villegas, president of Decameron said; "With this new brand we want to bring a different concept to our guests which complements the offer we have in Barú and Bocagrande. In Serena del Mar, we find the perfect place to develop a refuge in the middle of nature, which evokes the magic of Cartagena and allows people to enjoy it while being just a few minutes from the walled city and its attractions. Grand Decameron Serena del Mar is an important bet that we will surely be taking to other projects in the future. "

The hotel will generate around 500 permanent jobs, and will implement actions to make an optimal use of natural resources, this in line with one of the pillars of “La Ciudad Soñada”: the integration with nature.

Rafael Simón del Castillo, president of Novus Civitas, said: "We are very pleased to be able to announce, together with our new ally, the first of five hotels that Serena del Mar will have. The hotel is specially designed to meet the growing tourist demand of the city and will be complemented by a comprehensive offer that will bring other brands such as a business hotel, a luxury resort, a boutique hotel under the concept of an ecological reserve, and a nautical hotel. The announcement ratifies the importance of the city of Cartagena as a tourist destination for locals and foreigners and demonstrates the confidence that there is in the opportunities it offers."
