Between April and December 2024, our hotels became true living laboratories of sustainability. Through the Biodiversity Contest, led by the Corporate Sustainability Department and the Vice-Presidency of Hotel Operations, we promoted concrete actions to protect and regenerate the nature that surrounds us.
Main Achievements of the Biodiversity Contest 2024.
Thanks to the commitment of our hotels and communities, we achieved extraordinary results in the protection and restoration of biodiversity:
49,937 m² reforested
35,195 m² new green areas used
2,255 edible and ornamental species planted
3,717 volunteer hours
1,179 hours of environmental training
2,491 trees planted

‘Life, our journey’, the new campaign highlighting our commitment to sustainability

We are delighted to have launched a new campaign, ‘Life, our journey’, an initiative that seeks to highlight the company’s efforts in the area of sustainability and raise awareness about our responsibility to care for the environment, natural resources, and communities.
Life, our journey, is a 360 campaign with which we want to impact our stakeholders by promoting conscious tourism and building a better future for the planet and future generations.
This campaign will highlight our commitment in three strategic areas: environmental, social, and governance. In the first, we will highlight our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, optimize energy and water use, recycle waste, and protect biodiversity. In the second, we will showcase the work we have done through the Decameron Foundation and programs focused on education, social welfare, and sustainable development in communities along the Colombian Caribbean coast. In the third, we will show the work we have been doing by unifying our sustainability data on a platform that has allowed us to manage and control it more efficiently, and our commitment to transparency in order to comply with reporting obligations.
We plan to promote this campaign and highlight all communication related to this initiative on our digital channels and in our hotels nationwide and internationally.
