REQUIREMENTS FOR FOREIGNERS CHECKING-IN AT DECAMERON HOTELS IN COLOMBIA

Continuing with the commitment to preserve and care for the health of our guests and employees, Decameron Hotels in Colombia, explains in detail the Covid 19 test requirements that will be required by non-Colombian guests in the hotels in the Caribbean, San Andres, Eje Cafetero and Amazon for the registration and check-in, subject to the following considerations:

  • 1. All international passengers from zero years of age entering Colombia must present a PCR test for COVID-19 with negative result issued no later than 96 hours (4 days) prior to boarding the flight.
  • 2. If they do not present the PCR test for COVID-19, with negative result, they will be able to either:
    • a. Quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Colombia.
    • b. Have a PCR test in Colombia, which, if negative, allows the guest to end the quarantine.
  • 3. In principle, the immigration authority will stamp the foreigner's passport indicating that he/she did not present a PCR test upon entry.

There are cities that have activated an automatic immigration process (a system of secure areas located within the immigration area of the airport) and they will not stamp the passport or provide a document certifying entry into the country, instead registering the immigration in the system.

If the passport does not have the Immigration stamp, the guest cannot be denied entry to the hotel and must be given the option of presenting proof of COVID-19 negative test or quarantining.

Therefore, foreign guests who do not live in Colombia, must take into account that:

  • 1. In order to carry out the process of entering the Hotel, it is mandatory that all foreign guests identify themselves with their Passport.
  • 2. Guests will have to present proof of a negative COVID-19 test so that the hotel can check that the name on the negative test matches the name of the person checking-in to the hotel.
  • 3. they can can present PCR test done in their country of origin: If the international guest presents a PCR test done in his/her country of origin with negative result, he/she can continue his/her registration and stay in the hotel without any setback.
  • 4. If the international guest presents a PCR test done in Colombia, the result of the test and the date it was done must be reviewed and if:
    • The test is negative: you can continue your check-in and stay at the hotel without any setback.
    • If the test is positive: you must quarantine. The quarantine time is a minimum of 14 days from the date of the test and the case must be reported to the Covid leader of the hotel.
  • 5. If they do not have a negative PCR test: In this case the guest should be offered the option of:
    • a. Quarantining for 14 days at the Hotel at their cost.
    • b. Agree to have a PCR test done while at the hotel. In this case, if:
      • The test is negative: puede continuar su estadía en el hotel sin ningún contratiempo.
      • If the test is positive: you must quarantine. The quarantine time is a minimum of 14 days from the date of the test and the case must be reported to the Covid leader of the hotel.

IMPORTANT: The date of delivery of results does not depend on the Hotel but on the laboratory; during the quarantine days the guest(s) cannot leave the room.
